Purchasing Agent 

Job Description:

In our fast paced work environment, build and maintain relationships via phone, fax and e-mail with component vendors and suppliers. You will source and buy product to fill requirements generated by the OEM sales department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Qualify and develop new suppliers.
   

• Manage, maintain, and grow existing supplier base by developing long-term, professional relationships with key vendors.
   

• Accurately maintain the corporate "ACT!" database for different market segments.
   

• Market Essential IC's' purchasing requirements via telephone as well as daily e-mail and fax broadcasts, (including composing correspondence).
   

• Qualify vendor's product offerings to verify exact part numbers, accurate delivery date, and best price.
   

• Negotiate and buy parts in a timely and expeditious manner.
   

• Product research as required.

Requirements:

Must be a highly motivated, confident, self-starter, with a minimum of 1-year high tech component purchasing experience. Having established vendor relationships in the broker and franchised distribution market is a plus. Must possess excellent negotiating skills and be able to adapt to changing market conditions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is necessary. Experience with ACT contact management software is desirable.
